His works include other than lx short stories & other than xxx novels, several of which were published posthumously. Virtually all of his writings were firmly in the horror genre. Laymon is somewhat lesser known around Northerly United states of america than elsewhere, when he achieved very much of his profits inside Europe, particularly a United Kingdom. His novel Flesh was known as Right Horror Novel of 1988 by Science Fiction Chronicle, & two Flesh & Funland were nominated for the Bram Stoker Award.

Laymon as well published many works under a pseudonym Richard Kelly.
